KEY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: To supply Design/Project support to the Principal Design Engineer/Lead Engineer as part of the multi-disciplined Design team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE: *The Design Engineer will manage tasks with design and project engineering support. *The Engineer will supply CAD models and drawings suitable for producing components by various manufacturing processes. *The engineer will be required to take projects through to manufacture and therefore be responsible for every detail of the design. MEASUREMENTS: The engineer will work to project defined timings and gateways and will be assessed on their performance to deliver projects within budget and timing constraints. The Design Engineer will work with the Lead engineer and support him to meet the project deadlines. HEADLINE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS: ESSENTIAL: HNC or Degree in a relevant engineering subject. Must have a minimum 18 months experience in an Automotive Engineering Discipline i.e. Interior Trim, Plastics, BIW, Tooling or mechanisms. Other experience will be considered dependant on technical knowledge. The Design Engineer must be prepared to work overtime when required to meet deadlines. DESIRABLE: CATIA V5 - Part modelling/Drafting and surfacing capabilities. Good Drafting skills and working knowledge of GD&T. Innovative in design and a good communicator.
