Locum Advanced Social Worker – Children in Care Team\nBirmingham, West Midlands\n£33.30 per hour (Umbrella)\n\nWe are recruiting experienced Advanced Social Workers to join the Children in Care Hub in Birmingham.\n\nThis is a fantastic opportunity to support children and young people in care, helping to achieve positive outcomes through effective care planning, permanence planning, and high-quality social work practice.\n\nYou will manage a caseload of children aged 0–18, undertaking statutory work including care proceedings, assessments, direct work, and preparing children for adulthood.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * Manage a caseload of children in care and provide child-focused interventions.\n\n * Undertake permanency planning including fostering, Special Guardianship, adoption, and reunification planning.\n\n * Manage care proceedings from Interim Care Orders through to final outcomes.\n\n * Complete assessments, reports, and accurate case recording.\n\n * Work collaboratively with children, families, carers, and partner agencies.\n\n * Promote positive outcomes and independence skills for young people.\n\nRequirements:\n\n * Social Work qualification and active Social Work England registration.\n\n * Minimum 3 years’ post-qualified experience in Children’s Services.\n\n * Experience working with children in care, court proceedings, and permanency planning.\n\n * Strong direct work, assessment, and report-writing skills.\n\n * Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.\n\nWhat’s on Offer:\n\n * £33.30 per hour (Umbrella).\n\n * Hybrid working opportunities.\n\n * Supportive team environment.\n\n * Opportunity to make a meaningful difference in children’s lives.\n\n * Immediate start available.\n\nApply today to find out more about this excellent locum opportunity.
