Portfolio Underwriter

This is a new portfolio underwriter opening, working for a large global insurance group, with a strong and well known presence in the London market. Working across mainly speciality classes of business, this role demands strong analytical skills, with a deep understanding of risk aggregation and portfolio dynamics which will have you working across different distribution channels including broker facilities, algorithmic platforms, consortia and coverholders.

As with many portfolio underwriting roles, you will be responsible for supporting the data capture, analysis, statistical reporting across the wider portfolio, monitoring performance and aggregations. The role does require a strong level of underwriting analytical ability and whilst 'actuarial' level is not required, current portfolio specialists, whether from a delegated, treaty or general portfolio background should have advanced excel, possibly power BI or similar ability.

Class of business is open, applications considered from across a wide platform. What is essential is the underwriting exposure and be currently underwriting with a good authority level. Whilst many portfolio analytic roles may provide you with the general reporting and analytic abilities, they may not facilitate you underwriting, and for this role that is a pre-requisite.
